Dear Kari,
Daniel here from the Deep Fried Pickle Project. We are a midwestern band that will be playing a show for the kids tomorrow (tuesday).
Coincidentally we play "depression era" old timey music which I think is timely considering the plight of our nation's midsection.
We hope to see you there and would love to talk to you about music, the economy, the music economy, or even education (we also pull double duty as teachers in addition to being musicians). We will look for the Biodeisel Truck (kudos!)
Keep it Green and Bumpy,
Daniel
Hi, we are contacting you in regards to the "DI Bags" Decorators Industries. Please go to their site to read this heart warming story about a local manufacturer trying to keep their plant open and employees working- www.Decorator Industries.com. We are a locally owned gift store in U P Mall "Gingerbread Cottage". We just started carrying the bags here and at Hearts Desire in Elkhart. There was an article in the South Bend Tribune 4/2/9 and the response was amazing. We are donating $5 per bag to the Northern Indiana Food Bank. The Chicago tribune has contacted DI, they made a bag for Mike Huckabee. Coldwell Banker has asked us to join them in a "party for charity". We had one this past Friday & sold over 50 bags & we have one more at the Elkhart location. We were wondering if you would possibly be interested in doing a story and help get the word out. People from the company have come in and said the response is so much more than they ever imagined. Our store has gotten in 10 shipments of these bags (4/4/9) and are selling out as fast as they arrive. DI has not only brought many of their workers back, but have signs up looking for experienced seamstresses . It is so nice to have a heartwarming positive story in the news about businesses in the community coming together to help each other out.
We know that you have the influence to help get this story out there about a local gift store, a local manufacturer and a community working together.
Thank you for your time,
Pam Mitchell & Ann Rudasics
